Orbital Garden

This proposal for a floating garden is based on the ancient technologies that the Aztecs developed to build Tenochtitlan above the waters of Lake Texcoco, paired with the visual experiments developed by Marcel Duchamp in his Rotoreliefs. This project attempts to create a walkable space in constant movement and change where circular islands of planted vegetation float on pools of water so that when visitors walk on it makes the islands move in a rotational motion. The design also makes for an autonomous biome system, as plants keep alive without irrigation through biological and physical processes that occur naturally due to the characteristics of the project.
